Since 2014 Diabetes UK have been delivering a pilot group peer support service for people with Type 2 diabetes, called Type 2 Together, in six Clinical Commissioning Group areas in the Eastern and Midlands regions.
The Type 2 Together project has given people the opportunity to learn more about living with diabetes by sharing experiences and information with others with the condition, in informal sessions. The pilot was a huge success, reaching nearly 900 people with diabetes.
Although the Type 2 Together project came to an end in May 2016, many Type 2 Together groups are still running in the Eastern and Midlands areas. See further down the page to find one.
