Kiltwalk is one of Scotland’s most enjoyable fundraising events. This year loads of you took part in a Kiltwalk to raise money for Diabetes UK – donning your kilt to walk between 6 and 23 miles in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee or Edinburgh.
Completing one event is a fantastic achievement but David Taylor of the West Lothian Group and our Volunteer Development Manager, Allan Kirkwood, both took on all four events this year!
David said: “I wanted to take part in Kiltwalk to raise awareness of diabetes, show that you can take part in active events like this even if you have diabetes, and to raise money for Diabetes UK’s amazing work.
"It was a fantastic experience and I really enjoyed meeting so many other people all walking to raise money for special causes. I think Edinburgh was probably my favourite event as I was joined by members of the West Lothian Group and it was great to take part all together.
“I’d urge everyone, if you can, to take part in Kiltwalk 2020. You’ll get to meet lots of new people, help keep yourself fit and you’ll feel so proud of your achievement!”
