We are holding a free event in Weymouth on Wednesday, 13 March 2019 to help people with type 2 diabetes learn how to manage their condition better.
The Living with Diabetes day at the Best Western Hotel Rembrandt will offer people the chance to attend workshops with a diabetes specialist nurse, podiatrist and dietitian, get practical up-to-date information and ask questions. The event aims to equip local people with diabetes with the information they need to eat a healthy diet, care for their feet and maintain their overall health and well-being. There will also be the opportunity to meet other people with type 2 diabetes.
“On average, people with diabetes spend only three hours a year with a healthcare professional, so it’s incredibly important to take care of yourself," said Diabetes UK south west improving care manager Matt Robert. "If not managed well, diabetes can lead to devastating complications, including blindness, lower limb amputation, kidney failure and stroke. But the good news is there’s a lot you can do yourself and our Living with Diabetes Day will show you how. This event is essential for anyone with type 2 diabetes.”
The event will take place at the Best Western Hotel Rembrandt, 12-18 Dorchester Road, Weymouth DT4 7JU on Wednesday 13 March 2019 from 9.30am 4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
