Cross-Party Group

Would you like to meet with your Assembly Member to discuss a diabetes issue? The Cross-Party Group on Diabetes gives you an opportunity to do just that.

Every three months, a meeting is held in the National Assembly where people with diabetes, Assembly Members and organisations like Diabetes UK come together to discuss important diabetes issues.

The group is chaired by Jenny Rathbone, Assembly Member for Cardiff Central.

Over the last year, the Cross-Party Group has examined the availability of structured diabetes education in Wales, changes occurring at the Diabetes Retinopathy Screening Service for Wales and how to improve health records and information used by health boards across Wales. It is currently looking at provision of insulin pumps and inpatient care for people with diabetes

All of its meetings are open to the public and once a year the Cross Party Group holds a large event where people from all over Wales travel to meet their Assembly Members.
