Support in Wales

Here at Diabetes UK Cymru we offer support to everyone affected by diabetes, whether you or someone you know has just been diagnosed, if you have been living with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes for a while or if you’re a healthcare professional.

Here are some of the ways that we can help:

Information

As well as lots of great information on our online guide to diabetes we have a range of informative brochures and printed materials about living with diabetes that you may find useful. If you want us to send these out to you then please let us know by calling us on 029 2066 8276 or email wales@diabetes.org.uk.

Talk to someone

Our Helpline is staffed by trained advisors with counselling skills, talk to us for advice and support by calling 0345 123 2399. The service is available between 9am and 7pm on Monday to Friday.

If you want talk to someone with diabetes we have English and Welsh speaking trained volunteers who have first-hand experience of diabetes. Our peer support service is for everyone living with diabetes in Wales, including parents of children with diabetes. You can get in touch by calling 0843 353 8600 or find out more about Peer Support.

Join a Local Group

We have a range of adult groups across Wales that provide face to face support for anyone living with diabetes, informative discussions and talks from experts. We also have family groups where parents and children meet to give each other support and have fun.

Advocacy Service

If you are struggling to resolve a specific issue relating to your diabetes then we may be able to help. Please email wales@diabetes.org.uk for help and advice.
