Peter Baldwin was just 13 years of age when he died as a result of undiagnosed type 1 diabetes.

Beth, Stuart and Lia (mum, dad, sister) have been raising awareness of type 1 diabetes and thousands of pounds to save lives in Peter's memory for the past two years.

On the 18 February 2017 they held their second ‘Peter’s Party’ at the St David’s Hotel in Cardiff. Peter was an avid James Bond fan so the theme couldn’t have been anything else for this very special annual charity ball.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Peter’s life and to raise money to help create a world where diabetes can do no harm. The ball featured some familiar elements of classic Bond films, including an Aston Martin which was parked outside for guests to be photographed with.

And no Bond themed event would be complete without a powerhouse singer taking centre stage, a role taken up by ‘X Factor’ star Helen Fulthorpe who performed for guests.

The night also included an auction with fantastic pieces including a Wales football shirt signed by Gareth Bale (who attended the same school as Peter) and a pair of signed rugby shorts donated by Wales international centre, Jamie Roberts.

The money raised at the ball came to a grand total of £13,000, bringing the total raised in Peter’s memory to date at just over £65,000.

Beth said: "We want to thank all of our guests and all of the local businesses who helped create such a fantastic night. We have been blown away by their generosity.

"Life without Peter is so tough, but knowing that by raising awareness of type 1 diabetes we can help save lives in his memory is what drives us. Peter will be beaming with pride.”

We can’t thank the Baldwin’s enough, along with family, friends and everyone who has contributed to raise awareness and funds in Peter’s memory.
