New fuchsia discovery

Diabetes UK is partnering with Duchy College, Cornwall's College of the Countryside, to raise money for the charity from the sale of a newly-discovered fuchsia.

Duchy College has named the flower Angel's Teardrop and is now planning to grow and sell it.

Stan Williams, manager of Rosewarne Nurseries based at Duchy College, will oversee the propagation and growing of the fuchsias. He has a niece with diabetes and says the cause is very close to his heart.

Angel's Teardop will be launched in Spring 2008 and will be available to Diabetes UK members and their family and friends.

The fuchsia was discovered by Marshall Hutchens, Higher Education Programme Manager and Horticulture lecturer this summer.

If you wish to pre-order the fuchsia please call 01736 336975. A pack of three plants is £9.99 and £1 is donated to Diabetes UK for every pack sold.
