Eamonn Holmes still shedding lbs for £s

A fundraising reception held last week in Thames Ditton, Surrey was supported by Eamonn Holmes, host and contestant of ITV1’s 'Feel Good Factor'.

The show, which concluded last week, encouraged the nation to make small changes to lose weight and become healthier.

Eamonn, who lives in Weybridge with his fiancée and fellow TV presenter Ruth Langsford, took on the challenge to lose weight as part of the show and to raise funds for Diabetes UK.

"I will continue trying to lose weight"

Since the start of the show eight weeks ago, Eamonn has lost 14lbs and says it has altered the way he thinks about food. He said: “I’ve done things that will stay with me for life and I know I wouldn’t go back to a lot of my old ways.

“I won’t cross the finish line just because the series is over. I will continue trying to lose weight.

"I am happy to support the work of Diabetes UK. It is an excellent charity and the work they do is very important, especially as the nation gets more and more overweight.”

Hectic routine

The TV presenter admitted that losing the weight has not been easy, particularly when he has such a hectic routine.

He said: “I’m always on the go and I think once you get in to that manic sort of way of life you become the victim of airport lounges, trains and motorway service stations.

“The only thing I’ve had to combat this is that Ruth prepares me a lunchbox every day and now if it’s not in my packed lunch, I don’t eat it.”

If I can do it, anyone can do it

Eamonn insists that anyone wishing to lose weight can do it if they put their mind to it.

He explained: “If I can do it, anyone can do it - because I’m the most defeatist person ever.”

It is hoped that the 'Feel Good Factor' has inspired people to start to think about shedding the pounds.

“This has kick-started me and now this is with me for life. I had to do this for my health and I definitely feel better for it.”
