New Clinical Champions
We are pleased to announce that 20 clinicians from across diabetes care have been appointed as Diabetes UK Clinical Champions. Following a highly competitive recruitment process, the new Clinical Champions have been appointed from across the UK to lead improvements in diabetes care.
The Clinical Champions will be supported in their workplace through this 18 month leadership development programme to transform care for people living with diabetes. They have been selected based on their skills, clinical expertise, passion, and potential to make a real difference in delivering tangible improvements in care for people with diabetes.
Global recognition
This coincides with another huge success for the programme. The programme has been awarded the prestigious EFMD Excellence in Practice Gold award. Seeing off tough competition from around the globe, the award recognises the outstanding impact that the Diabetes UK Clinical Champions are having, through the initiative, for thousands of people living with diabetes.
The Clinical Champions programme was developed by Diabetes UK in 2014, in partnership with Novo Nordisk who provide support and funding, and Ashridge Executive Education.
