Could resistance training help older people with diabetes?

April 2021

Newcastle University

Researchers at Newcastle University would like to recruit people in the UK aged 60 or over, with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, who treat their condition with insulin, to take part in a research interview.

They want to find out whether light resistance exercise, also known as weight training, could be a potential tool to help improve the health and wellbeing of older people living with diabetes. They want to start by exploring the views and experiences of resistance training while living with diabetes.

Interviews will take no longer than an hour and volunteers will receive a £20 shopping voucher as a thank you.

If you are interested, please fill out the online screening tool or contact Dr Rachel Stocker at or 07729287811.
