Researchers at Royal London Hospital are looking for people with diabetes who’ve had a foot ulcer for at least 12 weeks to take part in a clinical trial testing a new treatment.

Volunteers will either be treated with a new type of gel, made out of healing factors taken from your own blood and vitamin C, or receive the best current foot ulcer care. The researchers will use 3D wound photography to find out if the new gel is more effective at treating hard-to-heal foot ulcers.

The trial is taking place at the following hospitals:

  • Royal London Hospital
  • Bradford Royal Infirmary
  • Loughborough Hospital
