Diet Freedom is the latest company to work with Diabetes UK to raise vital funds. The lifestyle experts are donating 2.5 per cent from sales of their online memberships and their four bestselling books to help people with diabetes. As much as 74p from each of these purchases will go to Diabetes UK.

Diet Freedom is about making simple changes to your lifestyle and following a healthy, balanced diet to help you lose weight and keep it off. The eating plans encourage you to eat lots of natural foods and focus on lowering the GL (Glycaemic Load) of your diet.

It is particularly important that people with diabetes follow a healthy balanced diet which helps to control blood glucose levels and in turn reduce their risk of developing serious complications of diabetes including heart disease, kidney damage, blindness and amputation.

You can join as an online member for just £9.90 per month, giving you access to all the information you need to follow the diet, including a large database of foods, hundreds of natural ‘fast and friendly’ recipes, a confidential ‘Ask the Expert’ service, your own ‘My Diet Freedom’ area to personalise with your favourite recipes and weekly plans. Plus you can generate your shopping list with one click, chart your progress, keep an online diary, and save research and information relevant to you.

Diet Freedom also offers motivational services such as Me Slimmer where you can email a photo of yourself and have it adapted to show a slimmer version of you. They also have advice and services to help to address emotional and stress-led eating.

This innovative diet service was created by Diet Freedom’s founders Tina Michelucci and Deborah Pyner with a highly respected panel of experts, including Paul McArdle a specialist diabetes dietician who works within the NHS. The founders are themselves former yo-yo dieters and through this diet, Deborah’s husband, who has diabetes himself, has lost six stone and maintains very good blood glucose levels.
