Does everyone with diabetes faint?

Question

I am worried because my nurse said everyone with diabetes faints.

Libby says

I think your nurse may be referring to 'hypos' (low blood glucose or hypoglycaemia) when she talks about people with diabetes fainting. Hypos happen when your blood glucose level drops too low. For people with diabetes, when the balance of insulin, food and physical activity isn't right blood glucose levels drop too low and can make people feel quite wobbly.

People generally get warning signs when they are having a hypo. Everyone has different symptoms, but often the common ones are: feeling shaky, sweating, hunger, tiredness, blurred vision, tingling lips, finding it hard to concentrate, becoming stroppy or irritable.

You can find out the best way to treat a hypo here.
