  • Just a little change can help a lot

  • A Family Day is a fun day to help everyone in the family to learn and understand more about diabetes.  But we can only hold these days with your support.

Each additional family day will help up to a further 70 families across the region. To run each  family day in the North East and Yorkshire we need to raise £12,000

If you would like to support our Family Day appeal, please send a cheque made out to Diabetes UK and post to:  Diabetes UK Northern & Yorkshire, Freepost, Darlington DL1 1BR. Thank you.

Map for Northern & Yorkshire.jpgDiabetes UK's regional offices are here to influence healthcare, improve local services for people with diabetes, and raise awareness and funds for diabetes.

What we are doing in the Northern and Yorkshire region:

Organising conferences for healthcare professionals and awareness days for people with diabetes, their carers, families and friends.

  • Raising awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK in all communities, in particular those communities at high risk of developing diabetes.
  • Encouraging people with diabetes to have a say in their care.
  • Raising vital funds to enable Diabetes UK to continue work in areas such as research and care.
  • And - running training days for lay representatives on diabetes strategy groups, which will enable them to make informed and effective contributions to the implementation of the National Service Framework for Diabetes (England).
