What we are doing in Wales

Raising awareness about diabetes, prevention of Type 2 diabetes and Diabetes UK Cymru across Wales.

  • Organising conferences and talks for healthcare professionals, including a new series of talks for GPs and practice nurses.
  • Attending high profile events such as the National Eisteddfod and doing talks for schools and community groups to raise awareness about the condition.
  • Organising awareness events for people with diabetes, their carers, families and friends.
  • Supporting people with diabetes and their family and friends through voluntary groups and providing advice and information.
  • Encouraging people with diabetes to have a say in their care.
  • Raising vital funds to enable Diabetes UK Cymru to support people with diabetes in Wales and fund research into the condition.

Find out more about what we have done throughout 2009 on our News page.
