From February 2012 you will notice that Diabetes UK has a brand new look. We have taken the decision to update our brand to improve awareness of diabetes, which is fast becoming the health issue of our time, and of Diabetes UK, the leading charity for this condition.
Why?
- Diabetes is the biggest health issue facing the UK today. It affects around 3.7 million people, with a further 7 million people at risk of Type 2 diabetes. That’s over 10 million people that we urgently need to connect with.
- Our new brand should give people a better understanding of what we do and what we stand for. This includes members of the public, supporters, organisations we work with, healthcare professionals, the government and those at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, as well as those who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
Our new logo and what it says about us

The new look was developed in collaboration with people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as parents of children with Type 1, healthcare professionals, supporters, volunteers and staff.
Central to the new logo is the strapline, ‘care. connect. campaign.’ This is designed to communicate clearly, at a glance, who we are and what we do: we provide care so that people can manage their diabetes effectively; we connect people with diabetes with each other and the services they need; and we campaign and fund research to create a better future for people with diabetes and those at risk.
What we stand for
Diabetes UK is the leading UK charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes.
- We help people manage their diabetes effectively be providing information, advice and support for them, their families and carers.
- We campaign with people with diabetes and health care professionals to improve the quality of care across the UK’s health services.
- We fund pioneering research into cause and prevention, improving care and treatment and working towards finding a cure.
- We campaign to stem the rising tide of diabetes. We raise awareness of the risk factors of Type 2 diabetes and encourage people to eat a balanced diet, maintain a healthy weight and take regular physical activity.
