To celebrate World Diabetes Day this year, we have organised a walk across the heart of London.
(Registration fee £5; under-12s go free)
Nine miles, 12 bridges, spectacular views
This will be the sixth year of this fantastic event to celebrate World Diabetes Day. Please join us on this really popular event, last year over 600 people signed up raising over £75,000 for people living with diabetes. You will walk nine miles, cross 12 bridges and marvel at some spectacular views of London.
The Bridges of London walk starts at Albert Bridge and snakes along the river to the finish at Tower Bridge. There will be a reception for walkers at the end of the walk with teas and coffees and a medal for each walker who successfully completes the walk.
It will be a day of camaraderie bringing together family, friends, colleagues, all walking for one extremely worthy cause – Diabetes UK.
There is no minimum fundraising target for this, but we do ask that you try and raise as much as possible. Every sponsor you sign up brings us one step closer to finding a cure for diabetes.
Please note that this is not a guided walk. You will be provided with a map and directions at the registration point, but the route will not be signposted or marshalled.
We will meet you at the finishing venue when you have crossed Tower Bridge. Children under 16 must be accompanied, and due to the steps involved the walk may not be suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
