MHRA issue safety alert for Accu-Chek® Aviva test strips

Roche have recently identified that a specific lot of Accu-Chek® Aviva test strips have dosing issues, and therefore cannot be used as intended. The affected Lot No. is 498287 | Catalog No. 06453970020.

If you use an affected product, you may find you can’t perform a valid blood glucose measurement on your meter with multiple strips in a given strip vial from this specific lot. The issue can be easily spotted by the error message displayed on the meter upon strip insertion or the strip not absorbing the blood drop.

Geoff Davies

Volunteer Geoff Davies takes on the 2.6 challenge

Adapting to his circumstances and wanting to stay active while managing his diabetes during the current period of coronavirus lockdown, he took on the challenge of 'Climbing the Stairs' of his three-storey apartment block. He created a circuit loop; going up two flights, along a corridor and then back down to the starting point.

He completed the loop 26 tines, taking a total of 7,046 steps and scaling the equivalent of 455 feet, the same height as the Pyramid of Giza.
