North West Research Partnership: meet the researchers

On Saturday 15 September, the North West Diabetes Research Partnership is inviting people living with diabetes to come along to the Roe Park Resort in Limavady to take part in a new workshop.

Diabetes is affecting more and more families in Northern Ireland with over 100,000 people living with the condition here. Diabetes UK Northern Ireland has set up the Research Partnership to bring together people with diabetes and their families to provide their perspective to scientists undertaking research projects.

In partnership with Ulster University, we want more people living with diabetes to have their say, and influence the local research community on their quest to know more about the condition and ultimately find a cure.

You don’t have to be a scientist or have any experience of research, but if you have an opinion about diabetes care, then this will be of interest to you. It will also provide an opportunity to learn more about how to work in partnership with local diabetes researchers.

Diabetes UK is the largest charitable funder of diabetes research in the UK. We have been funding ground-breaking research which has been instrumental in improving diabetes care and moving us closer to a cure for over 80 years.

For more information and to book your place on the free event taking place on 15 September from 10am-3pm, please contact or call 028 7012 4404.
