Our ‘Type 1 diabetes and Tech’ conference, organised in partnership with Swansea University and the Diabetes Research Unit Cymru, is an opportunity to discover more about the latest innovations and developments in Type 1 diabetes management.

International experts, paediatricians and other clinicians will discuss new devices, pioneering ideas and the array of technology currently available to people living with Type 1 diabetes in the UK.

People living with diabetes will give talks about the different types of technology they use to manage their condition, and there will also be a discussion about diabetes support available on social media networks.

The event is an opportunity for people to network with others living with the condition across Wales and to ask questions about new, potentially life-changing technology.

A pioneering conference

Our National Director Dai Williams said: “The Type 1 diabetes and Tech conference is a huge first for Wales. We led the way with Flash Glucose Monitoring by being the first country in the UK to offer the technology on prescription across all health boards last year. We want to continue on the same track by making sure that everyone living with Type 1 diabetes in Wales is kept up to date with the latest developments and discussions surrounding diabetes management technology.

“Leading experts from across the world will be talking about insulin pumps, Flash technology, Continuous Glucose Monitors, paediatric care and social media. This is a pioneering conference which will set a benchmark for the future of diabetes care in Wales.”

The Type 1 diabetes and Tech conference takes place at the Swansea University Bay Campus on 10 November. Book your place here.
