Bridget Turner, Director of Policy and Care Improvement, joined Diabetes UK in 1997. She started her professional career at Camden and Islington Medical Audit Advisory Group, where she supported general practice teams to undertake clinical audit. Later at Bromley Health she was involved in commissioning through developing public health needs assessment profiles.
Bridget is responsible for the development of the organisation’s policy and care agenda, working closely with healthcare professionals, researchers, people living with diabetes, national policy makers and local decision makers, to influence improved care standards. She has been in her current role since 2012.
She has an MA in Health Service Studies from the University of Leeds and is a graduating Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellow.
She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1977.
