Bridget Turner, Director of Policy and Care Improvement, joined Diabetes UK in 1997 and has been in her current role since 2012.
She is responsible for the development of the organisation’s policy and care agenda, working closely with healthcare professionals, researchers, people living with diabetes, national policy makers and local decision makers, to influence improved care standards.
Bridget’s interest in quality improvement goes back to the start of her professional career at Camden and Islington Medical Audit Advisory Group when supporting general practice to audit care outcomes and inform commissioning priorities. Later at Bromley Health she was involved in commissioning through developing public health needs assessment profiles
Bridget, who has has an MA in Health Service Studies from the University of Leeds, is a graduating Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellow. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1977.
