Comedian Joe Pasquale took part in an intense training session yesterday in preparation for the Virgin London Marathon, which he is running in support of Diabetes UK.
He was joined in London’s Regent’s Park by 13 other Diabetes UK fundraisers where a personal trainer was on hand to prepare them all for the gruelling 26.2 mile run on 17 April. The fundraisers were also provided with diabetes management tips and nutritional advice from the charity’s expert Clinical Advisors to help them throughout their final weeks of training.
Running to make a difference
Several of Joe’s close family members have been affected by diabetes, including his teenage daughter.
“Taking on the Virgin London Marathon is no mean feat, so it’s been great taking part in the training today to make sure I’m ready for the challenge and its really inspiring to meet other runners supporting Diabetes UK,” he said.
“Diabetes affects so many people and families across the UK and it’s really motivating to meet other people affected by the condition who are doing all they can to help improve the lives of people with diabetes.”
Diabetes UK wishes Joe and all of our fundraisers the best of luck in their final weeks of training!
