The organisers of London 2012 are looking for 8,000 truly inspirational people across the UK to carry the Olympic Flame as part of the Olympic torch relay.
At Diabetes UK, we think that this would be a great way to highlight the achievements of our supporters and the work they do to support people living with diabetes.
If you know someone whose story would have the power to inspire millions of people watching the Olympic Torch Relay around the world, why don’t you nominate them and give them their moment to shine?
Perhaps there is a volunteer who has used their own experiences of living with diabetes to reach out and support other people; a campaigner who has worked long and hard to make real improvements to services for people living with diabetes; or a fundraiser who has gone above and beyond in their efforts to raise money for diabetes research.
For more information on how to nominate someone, visit theLondon 2012 website.
Please let us know if you plan to nominate someone because of their involvement with Diabetes UK. We would like to hear about what they have done too. Please email us firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us who you are, who you have nominated and why.
