Local campaigner helps end kidney check charges
1 November 2016
Roger supported our campaigning to end charges for urine sample pots in his area. These posts are needed for kidney checks, which are essential checks for everyone with diabetes each year. No one should be charged for these important checks.
Roger took part in the campaign and wrote to his local NHS decision maker in Sussex to call for free urine sample pots for everyone with diabetes. He received a response, and local health bosses have agreed that this isn’t right. They are investigating this locally and will contact all GPs in the area, reminding them that it is unacceptable to charge patients for test pots.
This is fantastic news and shows the difference one person can make on care.
