South East
The South East region kicked off Volunteers’ Week with their Inspire Award celebrations. The event was held at St Barnabas Church on Monday 3 June and was enjoyed by volunteers and their respective families.
Corriene Bailey-Bearfield, Volunteer Development Manager says “It was an inspirational celebration of the great work our volunteers do to raise awareness and spread the message about the importance of prevention. Our volunteers are out there working hard in the community day in and day out. It was great to celebrate the positive difference their work makes to the lives of people living with diabetes.”

North East & Yorkshire
Our team in the Northern of England visited volunteers to give them their trophies individually. Michelle Stebbings, Senior Volunteer Development Lead, says “we had 15 Inspire Award winners across the North West and North and Yorkshire in each of the categories. This year has seen some of our youngest winners to date recognised for their part in Swim 22, we have seen some of our oldest groups finally receive the recognition they deserve after countless nominations and some of our volunteers receiving awards for their part in some of our most exciting and innovative projects to date.”
