Facebook Fundraising
Facebook launched its charitable giving tools within the UK in November 2017. This allows people to donate to their chosen charity or start a fundraising page, directly through Facebook. One of the benefits of this is that it allows people to donate directly to their chosen charity without having to go to a third-party website.
How do I create a page?
You can either do that by using the create fundraiser page on Facebook or by following the steps below
- Log in to your Facebook account
- Click Fundraisers in the left-hand menu of your main news feed
- Click Select Charity – and select Diabetes UK
- Decide on how much money you’d like to try and raise
- Pick an end date for your fundraiser
- Give your fundraiser a title, such as ‘Hannah’s birthday fundraiser for Diabetes UK!’
- Tell your friends and family why you’ve chosen to support us
- Pick a cover photo – you can use one of ours or upload your own
- Click Create and invite your friends
All of the money raised for us through Facebook Fundraisers comes directly to the charity and helps to make a very real difference to those living with diabetes. Every penny you raise goes towards our care and support services, advice and guidance, and pioneering research.
Our Facebook Fundraising Events
We often run challenges on Facebook that everyone is able to take part in and we have a new one this Autumn!
62 Miles in October
Challenge yourself to complete 62 miles throughout October and help support people living with and affected by diabetes.
How you take part is completely up to you. You can walk, wheel, run or mix it up- whatever works best for you.
