"I was reading and seeing reports on the health epidemic and the exponential rise of diabetes; after I graduated I was tired of standing back and watching. The work placement was exactly what I was looking for, an opportunity to create something that could be used to make a positive change for people who lack the knowledge to make healthy choices and lead a fuller life.

"I moved from Glasgow to London to began my placement. I have learned a lot about the charity’s history and have conducted research into diabetes and general healthy lifestyle messages from the government and the charity.

"The time passes quickly and everybody gets on really well. I am looking forward to helping out at the diabetes awareness roadshows later in the year."
