If you want to find out more about the amazing impact of Gifts in Wills, this event is for you!
Join us for this virtual event on Zoom, which brings together our wonderful Diabetes UK community to discover more about the vital role gifts in Wills play in giving hope for a world without diabetes.
Gifts in Wills raise over 30% of our voluntary donations each year; helping to fund pioneering diabetes research, life-changing advice and support for thousands of people affected by diabetes.
The event will be hosted by Dr Elizabeth Robertson, Director of Research, Diabetes UK. Elizabeth will share some of our recent achievements, strategy and future plans – and what this means for people living with and affected by diabetes.

Professor Angus Jones, Diabetes UK Researcher, University of Exeter
Latest update on Diabetes UK funded research exploring tests that can help to make sure people get the right diabetes diagnosis. His research has revealed how common diabetes misdiagnoses are, which groups of people are more likely to be misdiagnosed with the wrong diabetes type, and is uncovering how misdiagnosis impacts health. Professor Jones will tell us how the right diabetes diagnosis means people can receive the right care, sooner, so they can live well with their condition. -
Iain Robert French-Wilkie, Type 1 Services Programme lead, Diabetes UK
Sharing how we’re supporting the next generation of young people affected by diabetes. Iain will be joined by Calum, a Diabetes UK young leader who lives with type 1 diabetes. Calum will share his experiences of living with diabetes, and how gifts in Wills are helping young people, like him, to find community and friendship when they need it most. -
Emily Littlehales, Solicitor, Celtic Law Limited and participating National Free Wills Network Solicitor
