Everyone keeps bullying me and I don't like it.
I am sorry that your being bullied :( that can leave you feeling really sad when people do not treat you nicely and are horrible to you about your diabetes. Bullies only want to hurt other people and it is wrong and should not be happening. Polly you are more brave than most people, both children and adults, just by giving yourself insulin and looking after your diabetes, so try to think about that and be proud of yourself for doing so well!
Have you told anyone about being bullied at school? Maybe you have a teacher at school you get on with you can talk to or you can talk to your parents or an adult about being bullied. This is the best thing to do so that they can help to stop it. It can be hard to go up to someone and tell them, but please give it a try.
Polly always talk to someone about what is happening. You can also call our telephone line on 0345 123 2399 (please check with your parents it is OK for you to call first), or you can call Childline on: 0800 1111 or go onto Childline's website here.
They can both try to help you about the bullying.
Polly we have a video which is on our website about Type 1 diabetes which can be shown to other children at your school to teach them about diabetes and can help to stop bullying. Maybe you can ask a teacher if they can show the school.Watch it here.
There are also real life stories from other children who have also faced bullies at school because they have Type 1 diabetes and how they felt about it and sometimes what they do about it at the bottom of the page with the video so please do look at this.
Please feel free to reply back to me with any questions you have about getting some support if you need as we are here if you need support also. We do hope this has been helpful but please do get in touch with us again if you need to. You can also call theHelpline if you would like to talk things through.
With best wishes,
