Balance competitions – full terms and conditions

Crossword competition

  1. The promoter is: The British Diabetic Association operating as Diabetes UK (English charity no 215199 and Scottish charity no. SC039136) whose registered office is at Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane London E1 1FH.
  2. The competition is open to mainland UK residents, including Northern Ireland, aged 18 and over. Employees of Diabetes UK, River Publishing Content Limited, their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition shall not be permitted to enter.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. To enter, send your crossword grid with your name and address to Balance crossword, Diabetes UK, 126 Back Church Lane, London, E1 1FH. If you are entering from Northern Ireland please enter using the free post address, Freepost RTKK-UKYZ-YXXJ, Diabetes UK, 10 Parkway, London, NW1 7AA.
  4. The closing date for entry will be 13 August 2021. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted. Winners will be chosen at random by a computer by 20 August 2021.
  5. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  6. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice due to an event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  7. The winner will receive a three-month gift subscription to Seed Pantry, worth £39. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  8. The winner will be notified by email or post within 14 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  9. The winner’s details will be used by Diabetes UK and the River Group to send out the prize within 28 days of the closing date.
  10. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. The winner and any entrants agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  12. The winner’s name will be available 14 days after closing date by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Diabetes UK at the above address.
  13. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  14. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

To enter, send your letter via email to balance@diabetes.org.uk quoting ‘Letter’, or on a sealed-down envelope to: Letters, Balance magazine, 126 Back Church Lane, London E1 1FH. If you are entering from Northern Ireland please enter using the free post address, Freepost RTKK-UKYZ-YXXJ, Diabetes UK, 10 Parkway, London, NW1 7AA
