£1,700 raised by the Largy Road Community for Diabetes UK

Staff and customers from the Largy Road Mace recently held an in-store coffee morning in aid of Diabetes UK Northern Ireland and raised a fantastic £1,700 for the charity.

Owner, Patrick Hamill, would like to thank the entire Largy Road community for coming out in force to help support their coffee morning.

He said, “We have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers and traders. Diabetes is a condition that comes to the door of so many families in Northern Ireland and ours is no exception. We know that many of our customers understand what living with diabetes is like from their own experiences too so this was an important event for us to run in our community. We are so pleased to be able to hand over £1700 to this vital charity.”

Diabetes is a serious condition which affects over 100,000 people in Northern Ireland. Events such as this coffee morning helps to raise awareness and get more people talking about diabetes.

Naomi Breen, National Fundraiser at Diabetes UK Northern Ireland, said: “We would like to thank all the staff, the customers and in particular the community of Largy Road for all their support in fundraising a fantastic amount of money for the local diabetes community. We rely on people like Patrick and his team’s tireless support, helping us reach more people and provide the information and support they may need. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and donations to help us work towards a world where diabetes can do no harm.”
