Rosario Youth Football Club raises £3,100 for local charity

Members of Rosario Youth Football Club raised a fantastic £3,100 for Diabetes UK Northern Ireland. The club organised two very successful fundraising events in Belfast – a Gala Ball at City Hall and a pub quiz at the Parador Hotel on Ormeau Road.

Rosario’s Chairperson Ciara Boyes said, ‘We are pleased to present Diabetes UK Northern Ireland with a donation of £3,100 and so grateful for the support we received from our members.

‘We have a number of members and families living with diabetes so it was important to raise money for vital research into this condition. We would like to thank everyone who attended our events and helped raise this total to help more people with diabetes.’

Diabetes UK Northern Ireland National Fundraiser, Naomi Breen, said, ‘Rosario Youth Football Club has not only raised a lot of money for the local diabetes community but has helped us to raise awareness about this serious, lifelong condition. There are now over 100,000 people living with diabetes in Northern Ireland and this number will continue to grow so it is really important that people know more about diabetes and help us fight it together. Providing support, information and funding for research projects all work towards a world where diabetes can do no harm.’
