We’ve combined our medical expertise with the practical advice of our supporters to create a new way to learn about your diabetes.
What’s the best way to learn more about diabetes?
You could speak with a highly qualified healthcare professional who has specialised in diabetes for their whole career. You could talk to a person who has lived with diabetes for many years and hear their real life experiences.
We value both, and many of our supporters say the same.
Learning Zone has been created by Diabetes UK in partnership with people living with diabetes. It combines the expertise of diabetes professionals with the wisdom of everyday people living with diabetes. It’s a new and simple way to learn more about your condition.
To support our clinical team of diabetes specialists, we’re working with people living with diabetes from all walks of life and from all parts of the UK.
- We have gathered our supporters together and organised workshops to explore different aspects of life with diabetes. We wanted to find out what information people would find most useful to have, and what information they could tell us.
- We have put people in front of the camera and worked with them to capture their knowledge and their practical advice – their lightbulb moments that they want to pass on to help other people.
We encourage everybody who uses this new Learning Zone to let us know what works well and what we can do to improve it.
As Learning Zone develops, we want to continue to reach out to our volunteers, to our supporters and to people like you. Join us, and help us build a new way to help people understand more and take control of their diabetes.
