Steven & DemiĀ

Like many people, Steven and his niece Demi have loved ones living with diabetes. They wanted to do something to raise vital funds for Diabetes UK to ensure thereā€™s a future where diabetes can do no harm. So, they took part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Their aim was to get fitter and run the half marathon as quickly as possible. Steven says ā€œitā€™s a big challenge for both of us but weā€™re looking forward to it and canā€™t wait until it startsā€

"Running for a great cause is a huge incentive"

Edinburgh Marathon FestivalĀ

Steven enjoys fundraising for charity and has completed many challenges but says that running the Edinburgh Half Marathon for Diabetes UK has to be the one event closest to his heart as he has seen how people are affected by diabetes.Ā

If Steven can give one piece of advice to someone thinking about taking part in a Diabetes UK fundraising event he would say ā€œyou should just do it, it will give you great satisfaction knowing that what you are doing is for a good cause and this should be the incentive to spur you onā€.Ā

Steven and Demi raised an amazing Ā£2,811 and weā€™re so grateful. This money will be vital in helping people living with diabetes.
