In 2026, we will be introducing a new grants management system, OmniStar, to improve how we support researchers applying for and managing Diabetes UK funding.
During the transition, we will temporarily run two systems in parallel:
- Grant Tracker (current system)
- OmniStar (new system)
This phased approach is designed to ensure continuity while we move to a more streamlined and user-friendly system.
Guidance for current grant holders
- Continue to manage your grant in Grant Tracker for now
- No changes to reporting or payments at this stage
- Grant Tracker will be retired in December 2026
- We will contact you directly with clear guidance before any changes take place
Guidance for current grant holders
- Some funding rounds will use Grant Tracker, others will use OmniStar
- Each funding call will clearly state which system to use
- You will need to register on the relevant system for each funding round
- If applying via OmniStar, you will need to create a new account (guidance will be provided)
Upcoming Funding Rounds
The next Project Grant round is expected to open in July using OmniStar. We will confirm the exact dates and provide full guidance in advance of the round opening.
