A Multimodal Manual Therapy-Based Intervention for People with Painful Diabetic Neuropathy: Feasibility of a Randomised Controlled Trial

Researchers at the University College of Osteopathy in London would like to recruit people aged over 18 living with any type of diabetes, and experiencing nerve pain in feet, to take part in a study that is testing a new medication-free treatment. This new intervention, NeuOst, will include hands-on therapy, exercises, and pain management techniques.

The 4-month study involves an initial health assessment via phone, video call, or in person. You will then be assigned to one of three groups: (1) receiving NeuOst intervention, (2) receiving a similar comparison treatment, (3) continuing with usual medical care with no further visits. For the first two groups, treatments will take place at osteopaths at a university clinic in London (SE1). You’ll receive reimbursement for travel expenses and £15 paid per assessment (up to £60 total).

For more information or to take part in, visit www.uco.ac.uk/NeuOst or contact the study team at 07523629286 or via email David.Schmidt@uco.ac.uk.
