Sessions for Success
Six available fun and interactive sessions designed to bring together a holistic and psychological approach in supporting young people with their mental health and physical and emotional wellbeing.Â
Holistic and psychology approaches are used to promote young people becoming more aware of how they can manage and regulate their thoughts and feelings in living with type 1 diabetes. Â
Living with diabetes can feel tough. Sessions provide strategies for coping and improving emotional and physical wellbeing. Which can lead to improved self-management for young people.
Sessions have been designed to bring together youth work and psychological approaches to best fit the needs of young people. Sessions will be delivered by either a Youth Worker, Psychologist, or Wellbeing Facilitator Peer and can be adapted and reduced based on the needs of the group.
Coaching for Control
Are you a young person or do you know a young person who could benefit from gaining knowledge, skills, and confidence to maintain their own emotional and physical wellbeing and create healthy lifestyle goals? Our taking control health coaching service can help with this.
Our Health Coach, Trainee Psychologist would work with young people to identify the goals that are important to them and use psychological based strategies to help, guide and motivate young people to make improved choices on the things that matter most to them.
Counselling for Concerns
A counselling service designed to help children and young people from 8 years plus understand more about how they are feeling and provide support around emotional wellbeing and mental health.
We have partnered with Stop, Breathe, Think to provide online counselling to young people living with type 1 diabetes in the form of 6 individually tailored weekly counselling sessions as well as up to six extra drop-in sessions if needed. A 24/7 text service is also available should this be required by the young person.
Sessions support young people to face the future with a more positive outlook, resilience, and hope and do not need to be specifically diabetes related.
