Supporter Spotlight
Summer 2026
Our supporters continue to amaze and inspire us with their incredible fundraising stories. On this page you can join us in celebrating their achievements.
Paul Bamforth
Paul, Meg, Jake, Harry and Fred ran the March 2026 Rome Marathon. They smashed their fundraising target raising £2,182.17. They were joined by their cheering squad including Julie, who has lived with type 1 diabetes since 1987.
Juliet and Lauren Sawyer
Exeter twins Juliet and Lauren Sawyer used their shared hobby to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest (8,890m) blindfolded at their local wall. They raised £2,146 to support critical awareness of diabetes and diabetic retinopathy sight loss.
Will Parsons
Will took on the incredible challenge of climbing Scafell Pike five times in a row – matching the height of Everest! Along the way, he raised an amazing £5,794 for Diabetes UK, inspired by his wife India, who lives with diabetes.
Eddy Staples
In April 2026, Eddy cycled the Etape Loch Ness, raising £850. Motivated by his daughter and the sad passing of an old work colleagues daughter, he rode to raise awareness, honour lives affected, and support life-changing type 1 diabetes research.
