Diabetes Tech and You Conference 2023 delegate registration Terms and Conditions

1. Attendance at the Event

This event is being organised by Diabetes UK. Diabetes UK is the operating name of the British Diabetic Association, a company limited by guarantee (company number 00339181) and a charity registered in England and Wales (no. 215199) and in Scotland (no. SC039136) which has its registered office at Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane, London E1 1FH. 

By completing this registration form, you confirm and acknowledge that you are attending the ‘Diabetes Tech and You Conference 2023’ in your capacity as a person living with or affected by diabetes or that you are a person working in the field of diabetes. The conference is for the benefit of the persons listed above only and not for persons who do not qualify for the categories listed above. The conference will be held online. 

2. Closing dates for registration

Registration for the conferences closes Friday 13th October 2023 at 5pm.

3. Amendments to your booking and cancellation

Amendment and cancellation requests should be sent via email to: diabetestechandyou@diabetes.org.uk or via post to: Diabetes UK, Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane, Whitechapel E1 1FH.

In the event that the conference is cancelled for any reason, delegates will be notified as soon as practicable prior to the advertised date of the event. Diabetes UK accepts no liability in respect of any loss or damage, whether direct, consequential or otherwise arising from any delay in providing the event, cancellation of the event.

4. Programme and speakers

Diabetes UK reserves the right to alter the programme and/or speakers without prior notice and without any liability to attendees. Diabetes UK does not accept responsibility for the views expressed by the individual speakers.

Please note that this digital event is kindly supported by a range of sponsors. Diabetes UK would like to thank our sponsors for their support of the digital event. Sponsors have had no input into the arrangements for the digital event, including the agenda, content and speakers.

5. Accessing the digital event

The digital event is a web-based event which can be accessed through desktop or mobile device using a link or log in details provided to the delegate.

Delegates are solely responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary desktop or mobile equipment and internet connection for accessing the digital event. Delegates are responsible for use of any link or log in details provided to them for accessing any programme associated with the digital event and for preventing unauthorised use of such link or log in details.

Where we provide delegates with a link or log in details for accessing any programme associated with the digital event, delegates should ensure that this is not shared with anyone else. In the unlikely event that delegates believe there has been any compromise of the event log in details please notify a member of Diabetes UK staff.

6. Photography and recordings

Screenshots, photos and video recordings of the digital event may be taken by Diabetes UK. Diabetes UK may use these screenshots, photos and video recordings in post-event publicity and on future marketing materials. A video recording will also be taken and shared on the Diabetes UK YouTube account. See YouTube’s privacy policy here.

In registering to participate in the digital event, delegates agree to Diabetes UK taking such screenshots, photographs and/or video recordings, and to Diabetes UK using the screenshots, photographs and/or video recordings as set out above.

If you do not wish to be in any screenshot, photography or video recording, you must notify Diabetes UK prior to the commencement of the digital event. Delegates are not permitted to make their own video or audio recordings of the digital event or use any photographs or screenshots of the digital event for commercial purposes, unless they have Diabetes UK’s permission.

The digital event may include features allowing delegates, speakers and sponsors to post questions, comments and messages and/or allow delegates to access additional features which enable them to contact other delegates, speakers and sponsors.

Delegates acknowledge that Diabetes UK cannot control the content posted by other delegates and will not be liable to delegates in respect of any such communications. Diabetes UK reserves the right to moderate any such questions, comments and messages.

7. Cancellation, postponement, and/or alteration

Diabetes UK reserves the right to postpone, alter and/or cancel the digital event (including, without limitation, by reason of a force majeure). Diabetes UK accepts no liability in respect of any loss or damage, whether direct, consequential or otherwise arising from any delay in providing the event, cancellation of the event or change of format of delivery of this event. Diabetes UK shall not be liable to delegates for any costs incurred in connection with accessing the event.

8. Data protection

Diabetes UK takes data protection and your privacy seriously. We will use the personal data you provide to us to:

• Provide information about the conference to you

• To provide information for Diabetes UK administration purposes

• Send you promotional materials relating to future Diabetes UK Conferences

We will continue to keep in touch with you about our work and the different ways you can support us, including volunteering, working with our local groups or through financial support if you agree we can do so on your registration form.

Diabetes UK will not take responsibility for any personal information or data you choose to share with sponsors or delegates directly at the event.

9. Third parties and group bookings

If you are booking on behalf of another person, you confirm that you are authorised by that person to make the booking, and that the person has confirmed their agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

You acknowledge and agree that both you and the person for whom you are making the booking will be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
