“With the benefit of hindsight”: Diabetes-related amputees look back to help those with diabetes to look forward

Researchers at St Mary’s University, Imperial College London, and The University of Chichester would like to recruit people aged 18 years or over and living with diabetes (type 1 or 2), who have undergone an amputation resulting from diabetes, to take part in a study to understand what advice and recommendations you would write to your ‘younger self’.

You will be asked to write a letter with the benefit of hindsight. Specially, the letter will focus on what advice and recommendations you would tell your ‘younger self’, related to your diabetes care and lifestyle, prior to undergoing your amputation.

The learning from this study will be used to support others in the future with diabetes, and to raise awareness of the importance of self-care to reduce the risk of developing foot complications.
