Steven & Demi

Like many people, Steven and his niece Demi have loved ones living with diabetes. They wanted to do something to raise vital funds for Diabetes UK to ensure there’s a future where diabetes can do no harm. So, they took part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Their aim was to get fitter and run the half marathon as quickly as possible. Steven says “it’s a big challenge for both of us but we’re looking forward to it and can’t wait until it starts”

"Running for a great cause is a huge incentive"

Steven enjoys fundraising for charity and has completed many challenges but says that running the Edinburgh Half Marathon for Diabetes UK has to be the one event closest to his heart as he has seen how people are affected by diabetes.

If Steven can give one piece of advice to someone thinking about taking part in a Diabetes UK fundraising event he would say “you should just do it, it will give you great satisfaction knowing that what you are doing is for a good cause and this should be the incentive to spur you on”.

Steven and Demi raised an amazing £2,811 and we’re so grateful. This money will be vital in helping people living with diabetes.
