Our prestigious Good Diabetes Care in School Award is a fantastic way to demonstrate the great care provided to children with diabetes in school, and is now available in Norfolk.
The Good Diabetes Care in School Award celebrates the schools that work with parents and healthcare professionals to ensure children with diabetes have as easy an experience at school as possible.
It was available nationwide from 2018-2021. Now, the Midlands and East region is proud to be relaunching the award. It’s currently available in Norfolk only but may be expanded to other areas of the region at a later date.
Whether you’re a parent, carer, member of school staff or healthcare professional of a child with diabetes who attends a school in Norfolk, you can nominate the school.
What your school will get
- The Good Diabetes Care in School Award will be valid for one year from the issue date.
- A beautiful trophy and certificate.
- Use of the Good Diabetes Care in School Award logo on all your print and digital stationery.
- Featured on the Diabetes UK Good Diabetes Care in School Award Honour Wall.
- A list of reference materials and contacts for caring for children with type 1 diabetes.
- An opportunity for positive local media attention about your school’s achievements.
- Ongoing support from us to help with best practice and updated methods of care.
What happens after I've made a nomination?
Once a school has been nominated, we will contact the school informing them of their nomination. We'll then invite them to apply for the award.
We won't be collecting personal data, names or details of any children who attend the school. However, we will ask you to provide data about the school. We'll only use this data for the purposes of the award.
