Your month, your miles, your body

Searching for your next challenge? Look no further than Month of Miles, our very own running event - created with you in mind.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a keen runner looking to build up your miles, or if you’re the type of person who looks for every reason not to go on a run, yet secretly enjoys it once you’re out there. It doesn’t matter if you prefer running on a treadmill, or if you enjoy braving the elements and getting out into the world - sunshine or rain. And it doesn’t matter if you want to start tomorrow, next month or next year.

Because our Month of Miles challenge can be what you want it to be.

It’s your race, so run at your pace

When you sign up, you’ll be asked to choose your own start date and decide how far you’ll go - meaning you can tailor your challenge to your own schedule and ability.

Whether you feel able to take on the full 26.2 miles of a marathon, or you’d prefer to take on 8, 13.1 or 20 miles instead, we’ll be there to support you every step of the way with regular tips, advice and inspiration to keep you motivated. And our support doesn’t stop there, because we’ve created handy guides, schedules and resources to help you throughout your 30 day running journey.

‘You want a balance between setting a realistic goal but also something that will be a bit of a challenge. And you need to remember to be kind to yourself. Not every run is a "good" run, but every run you can learn something, especially if you have diabetes.’ - Kirsten

This will be a month of you putting yourself first, but with that heart-warming feeling you’ll get from being part of something bigger. Because by getting sponsored for every mile you run, you’ll be joining us in our fight for a world where diabetes can do no harm. And with the number of people in the UK now living with diabetes reaching 4.8 million, we need your support more than ever.

‘The health benefits, the mental health benefits, the fact that you know you’re making the world a better place for people affected by diabetes, it’s all worth it.’ - Carol

Take on your Month of Miles

‘In the early days of my daughter’s diagnosis, both my husband and I just felt so helpless. All you want to do as a parent is make it better, and we just couldn’t. But having the Month of Miles challenge as something to focus on really helped - you feel like you’re doing something to support the charity and people affected by diabetes, and that’s so motivating.’ - Steph
