Diabetes UK’s Tracker app for iPhone has been described as ‘Highly Commended’ by the judging panel for the recent Nominet Awards. The app, which allows users to keep track of levels such as blood glucose and carbohydrates, was shortlisted in the ‘Charitable or not-for-profit work online’ category. The award was won by Elizabeth Finn Care for their website, www.turn2us.org.uk.
The Diabetes Tracker app, which was downloaded more than 18,000 times in the first six months after its launch, has also been shortlisted for the Third Sector Excellence Awards. The app is shortlisted for the ‘Use of Digital Media’ category. The winners will be announced in September
Sarah Lewis, Diabetes UK Digital Marketing Executive, said, "We’re delighted that the Nominet judges recognised the Diabetes Tracker app at the awards ceremony. The app has been getting lots of excellent feedback from users, and we think it’s a great way to help people better manage their diabetes, and share their progress with their healthcare professional.
"It’s also an honour to be shortlisted for the Third Sector Excellence Awards – we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the ceremony in September!"
