Comedian Joe Pasquale has signed up to run the Virgin London Marathon next year in support of Diabetes UK and is encouraging runners across the UK to join him. So if you received a place in the public ballot and would like to help Joe raise money for people with diabetes then sign up to run for Diabetes UK now.
Joe decided to run for Diabetes UK as his family has been affected by diabetes and he’s hoping his fundraising will help the charity work towards a future without the condition.
Cause close to my heart
He said: "I have seen first hand the impact diabetes can have on someone’s life and therefore I know how important it is to raise awareness of the condition.
"What I think people don’t realise is that if it’s not diagnosed soon enough or managed properly, diabetes can lead to some serious health complications such as heart disease, blindness and kidney disease. This is a cause that is very close to my heart and that’s why I’m running the Virgin London Marathon next year in support of Diabetes UK and I need as many people as possible to join me to help improve the lives of people with diabetes.
Sign up with Joe
Joe will be joined in the marathon by two close friends from his boxing club, Terry Parker and Ryan Barrett, who will also be running in support of Diabetes UK. All three are encouraging runners across the UK to join them. So if you’ve got a place in the public ballot and have been inspired to run for the charity then please pledge your support.
If you didn’t get a place in the Marathon and would still like to support the charity, don’t forget you can also sponsor Joe on hisVirgin Money Givingpage.
