Northern Ireland

Adult Wellbeing programme

When? Friday 10th April 2026
Where? LORAG, Shaftesbury Community and Recreation centre, 97 Balfour Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2EW
Who can attend? This event is for people living with diabetes or those at risk of diabetes.
What to expect: We’re running three wellbeing sessions at our LORAG live well hub this April/May with AWARE NI. The sessions will cover diabetes distress and burnout, emotional health and wellbeing, self-care and stigma.

Adult Peer Support session

When? Tuesday 14th April 2026
What time? 7:30pm-8:30pm
Where? Online via Zoom.
Who can attend? This event is for adults (18+) living with Type 1 diabetes.
What to expect: This monthly support group is very informal and full of chat. This session will be hosted by Dr Kieran Walshe, who has lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 50 years.

Family Fun Day

When? Saturday 25th April 2026

Where? Rosepark Farm, 98 Bravallen Rd, Ballymoney, BT53 7DU
Who can attend? This event is for families with children under the age of 18 living with diabetes.
What to expect: Come and join us for some fun on the farm! This day out will include activities for all ages.

Hub Launch

Live Well Hubs

When, where, what time, and what to expect?  

Our Northern Ireland team offers diabetes support and information to local communities through their Live Well Hubs.

The National Lottery Funded project has helped the team launch Hubs in Bangor, Ballymena, Belfast (Houben Centre), Belfast (LORAG), Lisburn, Mid Ulster and Newry.

Webinar: Type 2 diabetes

Who can attend? This event is for people living with type 2 diabetes, those at risk of type 2 diabetes and health care professionals. 
What to expect: Join Diabetes Scotland to learn more about type 2 diabetes prevention, remission, and treatment in Scotland. Hear about lived experience of type 2 diagnosis and remission, and there is an opportunity to ask questions.
