We are one of the largest funders of diabetes research in the UK. We support pioneering research into cause and prevention, improving care and treatment, and working towards finding a cure.
Our research portfolio is currently valued at £25 million and covers over 130 research projects on all types of diabetes. In 2013 we made 32 new research awards including five research fellowships and 12 new PhD studentships.
We support a range of research funding schemes such as project grants, funding to purchase lab equipment, and research training opportunities, including PhD studentships and research fellowships aimed at clinicians and scientists.
