Help us reach more schools by ordering a free school pack and giving it to your local school. This pack helps teachers understand what needs to be in place at school for children with Type 1.
Make the Grade & Good Diabetes Care in School Award
For children with Type 1 diabetes and their families, dealing with a complicated health condition at school can be tough. Instead of throwing themselves into lessons, school trips and sports, children can be singled out, or left to manage their diabetes on their own. And for their parents it can be a constant worry.
Our exciting three-year partnership will help make sure that all children with Type 1 diabetes get the care they need to thrive at school through Make the Grade campaign.
The school pack is full of practical tips to make caring for children with Type 1 straightforward and to make sure that they get the support they need to participate in every aspect of school life. Schools that have applied these procedures can achieve a Good Diabetes Care in School Award, a recognition of their efforts to improve care and equal opportunities for children with Type 1 diabetes.
