Question I never get to eat loads of sweets any more. Well I do , but I have to do an injection. I'm getting a bit fed up having to do an injection all the time - I wish I didn't have diabetes; I wish there was a cure!
Thanks for getting in touch with us. I'm sorry to hear that you're so fed up with your situation - you don't need to go through this on your own though - there are people who will be happy to help and support you in your situation.
I hear from lots of young people in your situation who feel the same way - lots of people experience real stress around injections and testing and just wishing they're diabetes would disappear - it can make people feel really isolated and lonely.
Everyone has days where they feel angry or down - with or without diabetes - but sometimes it feels as though they go on and on. I wonder if you have a friend or family member you can tell about this, or if there is anyone in the clinic who you trust like your diabetes nurse?
Do you know anyone else your age who has diabetes? Some people find it really eases their mood and makes things generally easier, if they can talk to someone else who may be going through what they are, or who have been through it already.
I don't know if you use any of the social networking sites, but there are a few about for people with diabetes, where you can chat to other people in a similar situation to yourself for support and advice.
If you do visit any of these sites though, it is important to remember that people are all different and what works best for one person might not be right for another. The people on here are not medical professionals and so any medical advice MUST be discussed with your doctor or nurse before you try it, to make sure it is right for you.
