2 oranges, sliced
1 cinnamon stick and 1 to serve
3cm fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
2 star anise and extra to serve
6 whole cloves and extra to serve
1L 100% pure apple juice
Method
  1. Add one of the oranges with the cinnamon stick, ginger, star anise and cloves to a saucepan with a litre of boiling water and simmer gently for 10 minutes.

  2. Add the apple juice and gently heat for 3-4 minutes, taking care not to boil.
    &nbsp
  3. Strain the mulled juice, pour into a jug or individual glasses and garnish with cinnamon stick, slices of the remaining orange, cloves and star anise.
Chefs tips
  • You could make this recipe with no-added sugar cranberry juice for a ruby-red seasonal drink.
